barns, buildings and stables."
He was also bequeathed " 2
yardland
and 1 acre of arable and meadow ground in the common fields of
Adstock."
After the various bequests had been disposed of,
Thomas was in possession of the residue.
He was a Juror from
1707, and voted in the election of 1722 and in 1723, he was known to
have been insured by the Sun Fire Insurance Co. under policy ref. 15
/ 414. In the quarter
session records, he is described as
"gentleman", but calls himself a
"yeoman" in his will, which was dated the 12th of
November 1736, and was proved on the 6th of April 1739.
He purchased a plot
of pasture ground known as "Medley's Close", from Gabriel Medley.
